New management team members for Ennovor Biofuels help underpin ambitious global growth strategy Lond

As part of its strategy to become the world’s second largest second generation global biodiesel producer by 2015, Ennovor Biofuels has appointed a new chairman, managing director and plant manager. Each of the new directors brings with them considerable experience of implementing growth and turnaround strategies in the chemical engineering, finance and alternative energy sectors.

Chairman John Markham will take responsibility for guiding the strategic development of the business. He has held executive management positions with organisations such as ICI, Albright and Wilson and Hickson International. In January 1995, John was awarded the OBE for services to industry in West Cumbria, and also has significant experience in the regeneration sector. As chairman of the Whitehaven Development Company (WDC), John led a public/private partnership to spearhead the regeneration of the town, including its harbour. WDC’s programme was successfully completed over 10 years, transforming the environment of the town and winning numerous regeneration awards. John continues to hold board level positions within regeneration committees around the UK.

David Frohnsdorff has been appointed managing director to coordinate all aspects of the company’s production, sales, feedstock development and purchasing, as well as fund raising and infrastructure development for the group. He has over four years of direct experience within the biodiesel industry, having first acquired the facility in Bromborough in 2009. John has since led the expansion of the business via third party tolling agreements and plant acquisitions, in addition to securing working capital facilities for infrastructure development and feedstock procurement.

A chartered surveyor and with a masters degree in land economy from the University of Cambridge, David has spent over 11 years in private equity, commercial property, development and infrastructure, specialising in finance and structuring. In former roles, he has arranged and completed over £6.5bn of real estate financing for 150 commercial properties in over 40 transactions.

New plant manager David Jackson will manage plant operations. His experience includes managing ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, as well as environmental monitoring and technical problem resolution. Prior to joining Ennovor Group, David worked at Sellafield, where he managed the process engineering design and technology transfer processes on a number of projects based at the Capenhurst and Risley sites. He was previously at Cabot Carbon Ltd, where he was responsible for safety, health and environmental performance, new product development, capital management, quality and IT.
